To promote it, they wanted to create a glitchy Flash website that captured the essence of the Laughing Man, the central hacker antagonist from the show’s first season.

A few years earlier, the movie Donnie Darko had gained widespread attention for its mysterious interactive website, filled with hidden elements and puzzles. Inspired by that success, Manga aimed to create a glitchy, tech-driven experience that would complement the sci-fi anime classic.
